DREAM QUEEN DREAMS
It seems that no matter how many years I've been retired, I can't stop dreaming about work. Last night I had a report that was due. I couldn't remember what was supposed to go in it. So, I walked across the street to the car dealership. I was going to ask the guy there what I was supposed to report on. Not being able to remember what report I was supposed to do, nor how to do it, I couldn't figure out how to ask him. He just stared at me. I felt really stupid for trying to get help from him, so I left. I then went to my supervisor, whom I knew wouldn't help me. Sure enough, either he didn't know, or simply didn't want to help. He started rattling on about some unrelated subject. The best way out of there for me was to wake up, so that's what I did.

I continue to find it amusing how much you desperately miss the work world! This dream is trying to coax you out of retirement by helping you remember how much fun it was watching your superiors floundering and depending on you.
It also has a certain flavor of the classic school dream where it is the day of the final exam but you haven't attended any of the classes all term, read any of the text book, nor done any of the homework. There is something in your life for which you feel unprepared and are nervous about what others will think. Your dreams about incompetent and unhelpful bosses should help you remember how very talented and intelligent you are. Don't leave next time... show them your stuff!
